Doug Masters (Jason Gedrick) is an Air Force brat who can’t wait for the day he flies jets like his father, Col. Ted Masters (Tim Thomerson). He is an excellent pilot, but can be a little bit of a daredevil. He isn’t considered cool, but he has a group of close, nerdy friends that support him. One day, Doug gets the news that his dad was shot down over enemy territory in the Middle East and there are no plans to rescue him before his scheduled execution. With the help of some of his old pals and a new found friend, Col. Charles “Chappy” Sinclair (Louis Gossett Jr) he manages to “borrow” two fighters. He and Chappy set out on a daring mission to save Doug’s father, all the time being pursued by their own people and fighting the enemy’s defenses.
